Ludlow Food Festival weekend

Well it is almost here - the Ludlow food Festival. This year we are off with Mark and Wendy and the children for a camping experience. This means that we can taste all of the foods and drink available without the worry of driving. We are staying just outside Ludlow.

We are looking forward to having a BBQ using local produce, tasting all of the puddings at the pudding tasting, as well as the famous Sausage Trail and Bread Trail...can't wait! The weather does not look that good though? I hear that Levi Roots is also going to be making a guest appearance and talk on his loves: food and music.

In Search of the perfect Macaroon

Lynne is back in the kitchen trying to perfect her macaroon recipes, so that we can look at selling them into delicatessens throughout the Cotswolds.

We love the taste of the Parisienne little treats and we first came accross them on the Champs Elysees in Paris at a beautiful shop called Laduree - Every day, on the most beautiful avenue in the world, Ladurée creates the products that have made its reputation: macaroons, sweets, pastries and other desserts. With passion and talent, 45 pastry chefs and 40 cooks prepare traditional and festive dishes that demonstrate their know-how and their creativity.

We found this shop when we were is Paris staying at the wonderful Hotel Marignan, and Alain Ducassse restaurant Spoon

Lynnes has brought this back to England so that we can all enjoy these rare treats.

Dinner at its best

Just came back from a birthday treat and visit to Ludlow to see the folks - and were taken out to the very lovely Mr Underhill's restaurant - wow! what a delight. We had an absolutely fantastic meal, and would highly reccommend the restaurant

You will find them at the foot of Ludlow Castle ramparts on the banks on the River Teme, just five minutes walk from the market square.

The Michelin starred restaurant looks onto the courtyard garden, romantically candle-light at night, and the River Teme beyond. All the rooms and suites overlook both garden and river. To ensure they maintain a five star gold award all the accommodation continues to be fine-tuned and upgraded.

The 2010 Moreton Show is going to be a wonderful event for all the family and one we’re sure you won’t want to miss, so round up all your friends and family and come along on Saturday 4th September to enjoy a true Cotswold countryside event like no other. You’ll quickly discover there’s far more to the Moreton Show than you ever imagined.

The Moreton-in-Marsh Show is a traditional one day Agricultural and Horse Show which is held on the first Saturday in September each year. It is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the UK and attracts around 18,000 visitors each year.

The Show is held in a parkland setting with no permanent buildings, so is built up in the traditional way with marquees and hurdle pens giving a true country show atmosphere.

What you can see at the Moreton-in-Marsh Show

The Moreton Show has all the charm of a traditional country show and offers something for everyone. Competitions are held for horses, cattle (including the National Show of Poll Hereford Cattle), sheep (including the National Show of Cotswold Sheep), goats, poultry, dogs, crafts, flowers and even scarecrows.

The Ludlow Food Festival

THE BEST EVER!" - That is what many visitors said about the 2009 Ludlow Food Festival which took place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11-13 September in Ludlow. The weather was excellent, too!

Held every year in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, the small town with the large reputation for good food and drink - this year's Festival featured more than 130 top quality small independent food and drink producers from the Marches, the England-Wales border country.

There were some new features, such as the Graeme Kidd Pavilion, the launch of the Graeme Kidd Bursary, and the launch of the new, exciting Taste Real Food UK - a membership organisation for food and drink lovers throughout the UK. Not forgetting all the old favourites both inside and outside Ludlow Castle, includling great demonstrations, talks, trails and much more.

Visitors could sample and vote for their favourite sausage or bread or ale, watch or take part in our Waiters' Race, engage in some serious pudding tasting, and taste some wonderful food that maybe they didn't even know existed.

Whether you are a serious foodie or someone who just appreciates good food and drink, there's more than enough at our festival to ensure that you, and your friends and family, have a great time. There's a wonderful festival atmosphere - and you'll certainly be able to taste the difference.
